PRAGMATIC SOFTWARE PROVIDES SCALABLE
DATABASE SOLUTION FOR DENVER BRONCOS

The 2 time Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos teamed up with Pragmatic Software Co., Inc. to provide a more scalable database solution for their scouting activities.

The scouting database was written internally by the Denver Broncos Information Technology staff in Microsoft Access.  As their database grew and more of their staff began using it, Microsoft Access became slow and unreliable due to the number of users and the amount of data captured.  The Broncos teamed with Pragmatic Software to provide greater scalability, improve performance and increase reliability of the database.

To meet these goals, Pragmatic Software converted the Microsoft Access database to SQL Server.  To reduce project costs and keep a consistent end-user experience, the user interface continues to use Microsoft Access.  Although there were over 200 tables and numerous reports and screens, the entire project was completed in about 2 weeks.

"Now that the database resides in SQL Server, the Denver Broncos Information Technology team can better tune the database, and set maintenance plans to back up and reorganize the data more effectively.  We also created complete documentation and training guides for future reference, including detailed instructions for tuning the database for optimal performance", explains Steve Miller, President of Pragmatic Software.
